The Beautiful age 1900-1910

When Queen Victoria died in 1901 her son Edward marked the end of the Victorian Era out with the old and in with the new and revolutionary.

King Edward has brought multiculturalism because he loved to travel and experience the new and that also reflected in the fashion style of his Era.

• ''Corset crazy'' everyone was wearing corsets even if that meant health issues. I guess that's where the expression ''Fashion hurts'' comes from ;)

• People were dressing according to their class- The High class had the latest designer garments while the middle class citizens had to make their own clothes.

• ''Tea time girls ;) '' Women were allowed to take their corsets off when they were just relaxing at home and instead they wore tea dresses were which are still selling now! 

• SWEATED INDUSTRIES(Sweatshops)- As the demand for the ready to wear garments was very high factories had a lot of workers who were mostly quite poor and had terrible living conditions. They also employed a lot of children. 

• Liberty- Is a shop in London on Regent street where women went where they had a lot of oriental fabrics that were brought over from different countries. 

Towards the End of the century fashion and silhouettes started to change. A lot of things have influenced the movement of fashion and I don't really think it is happening as much now as it did back then. And I cant help but feel that the world of fashion isn't as exciting as it use to be. People use to make difference like Serge Diaglev in 1900's the founder of The Ballet Russe. His Ballet company preformed ''Cleopatra'' In brightly coloured soft silhouettes which again changed the direction of fashion.

• Paul Poiret- The man who freed breasts  and made women healthier by replacing the corset with a brassier and introduced the hobble skirt and..harem trousers. Some people call him the ''king of fashion designers'' people also say that '' His contributions to twentieth-century fashion have been likened to Picasso's contributions to twentieth-century art.'' What ever you want to call him is up to you but this man most definitely made a difference and marked his place in history.

The first world war had a massive impact on the world of fashion. Most men had to go to war leaving women in charge!

                    A huge demand for wedding dresses

1921 Chanel number 5 was launched carrying the name and                    
                       legacy of Coco Chanel still today.

• They went to parties on their own
